Christian Education Victory Temple has Sunday School classes every Sunday morning beginning at 9:30 AM for all ages. We have some of the most dedicated teachers who love teaching the Word of God. We feel Sunday School is a very integral part of our church as we spend this time learning and studying God's Word. See Sister Vickie Isham for more information about our Christian Education department. Men's Ministry Our Men's Ministry is made up of men of all ages -- from the young to the old, you will find this to be a wonderful group of Godly men who love coming together for fellowship, work days, golf tournaments and more. See Brother Melvin Starling for more information. Ladies' Ministry The Ladies' Ministry is also made up of women of all ages. The ladies get involved in various projects within the church and are actively involved in providing necessary baby clothes and baby items for non-profit organizations who distribute them. To get involved or for more information, see Sister Diana Taylor or Sister Juanita Parker. Young Adults The College and Career class meets each Sunday morning at 9:30 AM under the direction of Monty and Becky Thomason. This is a wonderful class for young adults. It's a great place to not only learn God's Word and how it applies to daily living, but a great place to meet new friends. O.W.L.S. Brother Earl and Sister Emma Moore know how to keep the Older, Wiser Living Saints active and enjoying great food and fellowship. They have so much fun, people of all ages want to be involved. It's a great way to fellowship and get to know one another. Outreach and Evangelism Brother Melvin Starling heads up the annual Memorial Day Service which includes men and women serving in the military, as well as local law enforcement and emergency personnel, followed by an all-you-can-eat bar-b-que luncheon. He also hosts at least two golf tournments each year at well-known golf venues in the Houston area. You will find his side-kick, Jasper Floyd, in the middle of organizing bar-b-que dinner sales and other fundraisers to help support various ministries within the church. Brother Starling also serves as Head Usher. Outreach Coordinators, Justin and Kim Magras, head up several annual events including the following: Community Easter Egg Hunt where volunteers from our congregation invite children and their families from our community to join us for a fun-filled day celebrating Easter. We are always excited to minister to the families through praise and worship, skits, and hands-on object lessons. Each year we hide over 10,000 candy filled Easter eggs, host fun games and activities for the children, give away numerous prizes including bicycles, skateboards, and Easter baskets, and provide everyone a hot dog lunch…all free of charge. Semi-annual School Supply Drives where our congregation collects paper, pencils, backpacks, and numerous other items that children need to be successful in their schooling. All of the supplies are divided up and given to several schools in our church community who in turn distribute them to children whose parents are not able to send them to school with all of the necessary supplies. Christmas Angels Toy Driveswhere our congregation works with several schools in our church community to provide Christmas gifts for families in need. We work with teachers and guidance counselors at several local schools to select recipients for this program based on their family need, and members of our congregation are given the opportunity to “adopt a child” each year which entails taking the child’s wish list and buying Christmas gifts for them. In 2011, we collected gift bags for 76 children from 25 families, and we were able to distribute over 15 bicycles that were donated to Victory Temple. Homeless Outreaches where our congregation collect items such as toiletries, warm clothes, blankets, backpacks, and various other items to distribute to those in need. A typical event includes distribution of these items as well as a meal, and we always enjoy the opportunity to pray with those that we meet and share the love of Jesus. Good News Club which is an after school program where members of our congregation teach children about salvation. We work with several other churches in our area to host this event, and each week children are given the opportunity to participate in praise and worship, scripture memorization, Bible lessons, and prayer time. These two groups are responsible for heading up many other events throughout the year that help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and show His love to our community. Youth Daniel De la Cerda has led our youth for the past several years. Faithful to his calling, he has lead our Youth every Friday night, teaching them the Word of God and enjoying fellowship one with another. No more excuses for not having something to do on Friday night! King's Kids Our children look forward to going to King's Kids after Sunday School where she has church on their level. This includes music, puppets, skits, games and more! It's so fun and exciting, everyone wants to go! Boys' and Girls' Clubs Our Boys' and Girls' Clubs meeting on Wednesday evenings during the mid-week service. There are several classes divided up age/grade where they learn the Word and have fun activities planned each week.
